Vocabuild · Last updated: 14 August 2026
Vocabuild does not collect any data. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it makes no network requests of any kind. Everything you do stays on your device.
This policy explains what the app stores, where it is stored, and what control you have over it. It applies to the Vocabuild Android app published by Ulaş Uzun.
None. We do not collect, receive, store or share any personal information. Specifically, the app does not ask for or access:
There is no sign-up and no login. We have no server, so there is nowhere for your data to be sent even in principle.
So the app can remember where you left off, the following is saved in local storage on your phone. It is never transmitted anywhere.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Placement test result and current level | To show words at the right difficulty |
| Learning progress and level-up goal progress | To continue where you left off |
| Saved words | So you can review words you chose to keep |
| Fill the Blank and Listening XP and best streak | To display your score |
| Settings: theme, dark mode, reminder time, pronunciation speed | To keep your preferences |
The app is fully offline. It makes no network requests at all — not to us, not to any third party, not for analytics, not for advertising. You can use Vocabuild in aeroplane mode with no loss of functionality.
Earlier versions of this app offered optional on-card translations, which contacted a third-party translation service. That feature has been removed and no such requests are made any more.
When you play a word out loud — by holding a word in Learning, or in Listening mode, which reads each word aloud — the app uses the text-to-speech engine already built into your device (for example Google Text-to-Speech on Android). The audio is produced locally on your phone. Vocabuild does not send the word, or anything else, over the internet to do this.
Your device's own text-to-speech engine is provided by your device manufacturer or by the speech app you have installed, and is governed by that provider's own privacy policy.
Listening mode asks you to spell the word you heard, so it opens your keyboard and you type into the app. What you type is compared to the answer on your device and then discarded. It is never stored, never added to your saved words, and never sent anywhere — there is nowhere for it to be sent, as the app makes no network requests.
The text field is set to turn off autocorrect, predictive text, autofill and keyboard personalisation, both so the keyboard cannot suggest the answer to you and so what you type is not added to your keyboard's learned-words dictionary.
Please note that your keyboard is a separate app (for example Gboard, Samsung Keyboard or SwiftKey), not part of Vocabuild. How a keyboard handles what you type into any app is covered by that keyboard's own privacy policy, and is outside our control.
If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device at the time you choose. This is handled entirely by Android on your phone; no data is sent anywhere, and no push service is used. You can turn the reminder off at any time in Settings.
The only permission the app ever asks you for is permission to show notifications, and only at the moment you switch the daily reminder on. Declining it does not affect any other feature.
Like most Android apps, the package also declares the standard internet permission, because the framework Vocabuild is built with includes it by default. The app does not use it: it makes no network connections, as described above.
Because nothing is ever sent to us, there is no server-side copy of your data and therefore no deletion request to make. If you would like written confirmation of this, email us at the address below and we will reply.
Vocabuild is suitable for all ages. It collects no data from anyone, including children under 13, and contains no ads, no in-app purchases, no social features and no external links other than the contact email address in Settings.
The app contains no advertising networks, no analytics SDKs and no social media SDKs. No data is shared or sold to anyone, because none is collected.
If you installed Vocabuild through Google Play, Google may collect information about the installation itself under its own policies. That is outside our control and is covered by Google's Privacy Policy.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
